Aluminium vs MDF: Choosing a Production Material
Manufacturers often compare aluminium systems with MDF or melamine board at the material-selection stage. The right answer depends on the application, production method, finish, moisture exposure, weight target and budget. This is a practical side-by-side for cladding, panels, components and furniture.

Where MDF still makes sense
MDF or melamine can make sense when the workshop already has the established process, the required finish is board-specific, the environment is controlled and upfront cost leads the brief.
Aluminium is worth reviewing when the project needs cladding or linear profiles, lower component weight, a metal-led system, moisture resistance or CNC-prepared aluminium parts.
